The audio of Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Rakta Charitra’ that already landed into many controversies is scheduled for release on 10th September. Film release date is yet to be announced.

‘Rakta Charitra’ is a trilingual (Telugu, Hindi and Tamil) based on the real incidents happened in Rayalaseema. It is produced by Madhu Mantena and Sheetal V Talwar.

The film   stars Vivek Oberoi, Surya Sivakumar, Radhika Apte and Priyamani in lead roles. Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha plays another key role.

‘Rakta Charitra’ is being made in two parts in Telugu and Hindi versions. The first part is expected for release in the last week of September (likely on September 24) and the second part after a gap of one month. But, both the parts are clubbed into one for the Tamil version.

It is known that sensational director Ram Gopal Varma is doing a trilingual movie named “Rakta Charitra”. Shooting of this movie has been recently completed and the film is expected for release in September. The movie is based on the life history of late former Telugu Desam Party Leader Paritala Ravi.

Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who is now engaged in his ambitious project ‘Rakta Charitra’, is planning for a film titled ‘Department’ that will be based on the working of the Police Department in the country.

The ace director already has another ultra-ambitious project – a 3-D film ‘Samurai’ for completion after Rakta Charitra. After these two films, RGV may take up ‘Department,’ which will be an expose on the working of the law force within the country. The film is said to cover everything from encounter killings, to mafia dealings to terror links etc.

Ram Gopal Varma has now found another sensational subject that is sure of winning interest and laurels of the film lovers. This time, the ace filmmakers chose to focus on the lavish and sex-oriented life of godman. For that, he seems to have selected an apt title – ‘God and Sex.’

The canny film maker said that his film would explore all that happens in the inside of ashrams. He added that he was intrigued by all the scandals that these so called godmen are involved in. Further, the multitalented filmmakers said that the film would be based on the recent sex scandal.

When asked about the lead actor for the film, RGV said that he was still working on the script and added that he would think about the star cast only after he had done with it.

Ram Gopal Varma, one of the ace directors of the Indian Cinema, is known for his unique style of presentation. Adding to this Ram Gopal Varma said “It is not about media bashing at all. I’ve always said that the media exposes, and now I am exposing media. Now it is not necessarily about the bad things – I may be talking about the media’s vulnerabilities, their compulsions and their greed – after all every human being is susceptible to situations and pressures and his own emotions.”

It is already known that ‘Gayam 2,’ a sequel to Jagapathi Babu’s super hit film ‘Gayam’ is being made. The latest buzz about the film is that Vimala Raman has been chosen for the lead female role. Kartha Creation Banner is making the film in the direction of a debutant, Praveen Sri, a student of Ram Gopal Varma. Dr. C Dharmakartha is producer. Music maestro Ilayaraja is composing music.

The film unit is going abroad from 25th of this month to shoot a part of the film including an action episode and a couple of songs. Later, shooting will proceed in Hyderabad and Vizag.

Other star cast of the film includes Kota Srinivasa Rao, Tanikella Bharani and Kota Prasad.

The Telugu and the Hindi film industries now seem to head towards a new trend with the directors and producers focusing on making sequels to the super hit films. Even the heroes are showing more interest acting in such films. The success of the sequels like ‘Sarkar Raaj,’ ‘Phir Hera Pheri’and ‘Golmaal Returns’ has no doubt given a big boost to this growing trend. Very soon, sequels to ‘Race’ and ‘Blue’ are expected.

On the other hand, the trend is equally emerging in Tollywood. The recent release of ‘Arya- 2,’ a sequel to the super hit film ‘Arya,’ strengthens the point.

The latest news in line to the growing trend is that ace director Ram Gopal Varma is now planning to make a sequel to his super hit film ‘Gaayam’ released about 15 years ago. The film released in 1993 was a big sensation then. Jagapathi Babu, Urmila Matondkar and Revathi played the lead roles in the film. The role of ‘Durga’ played by Jagapathi Babu in the film received huge applause from audience. In fact, it was one of the biggest hits in the initial days of Jagapathi Babu’s career.

And now, after more than a decade and half, the same character ‘Durga’ is going to come back with the sequel. Praveen Sri, student of Ram Gopal Varma will be directing the film. Once again, Jagapathi babu will be playing the powerful role of ‘Durga’ in the sequel. Jagapathi Babu’s serious role in the recent film ‘Homam’ directed by J D Chakravarthy shows that he still has lot of energy to do the characters like ‘Durga.’ Heroine for the film is yet to be finalized.

Now, lets wait and see how Jagapathi Babu takes up the challenge.
