Prabhu Deva’s ‘Wanted’ with Salman seems to have glossed the director’s future. As ’Wanted’ was thought to be Salman Khan’s ‘Ghazni’, this time Bollywood’s heavyweight producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Boney Kapoor tried to rope in Prabhu for a supposed remake of Tamil movie ‘Gilli’ which is itself was a remake of Prince Mahesh’s ‘Okkadu’.

The increasing interest of the Hindi audience in the action genre has made the Bachchan’s company, AB Corp to join hands with the choreographer-director Prabhu Deva. Abhishek is said to have added a nod at just one glance at the script.

The script of the remake is being reworked by Prabhu Deva, since supposed production stage (June, 2010) is a long way ahead. Let’s hope to see Abhishek’s ‘Ghazni’ this time.

Mega Power star Ram Charan, who is flying high with the success of his mega movie ‘Magadheera’ seems to be setting a new trend. His upcoming films are going to be made both in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. Till now we had been seen only few Tamil stars like Rajinikanth and Vikram whose films are made both in Telugu and Tamil versions at once.

But now, Ram Charan is likely to change this trend and set a new one. This would begin with his upcoming film ‘Orange’ in the direction of Bhasker that will be made in two languages at a time.

It is known that Kamakshi Kala Movies is producing a film with Akkineni Nagarjuna in the direction of Kiran. Mamtha Mohandas is playing the lead female role opposite Nagarjuna. The latest buzz is that makers of the film are planning to release it for Sankranthi. If this happens, this will be another big movie joining the list of Sankranthi Releases.

The film is said to include all commercial elements to make it a complete entertainer. Title is yet to be decided. Earlier, it was said that the title ‘Rummy’ is in consideration but the latest sources say that ‘Mosagadu’ is in speculation. But the film makers haven’t confirmed any title so far.

The shooting of the film is currently progressing in Hyderabad. Very soon, the film unit will go to Greece to shoot a couple of songs. After that one more song will be shot in Hyderabad. With this the shooting of the film is expected to come to end.

Linda, a new comer to Telugu cinema, will be appearing in a special role. Ankur (of Slumdog Millionaire fame) is playing the role of villain. Other star cast includes Nirmal Pandey, Sayaji Shinde, Akhilendra Misra, Brahmanandam, Tanikella Bharani and Harsha Vardhan. Music is scored by Sandeep Chowtha. D Shiva Prasad Reddy is producer.

Kamakshi Kala Movies, the production house now engaged in the production of a film with Nagarjuna, will be soon producing another film with his son, Nagachaitanya.

Ram Charan’s fourth film is speculated to be in the direction of Dharani. As soon as the actor’s current schedules with ‘Bommarillu’ Bhaskar get over, he would start indulging in the new one. Under the production of RB Chowdhary’s Super Good Films banner, the film is expected to mark Dharani’s comeback after the flop of ‘Bangaram,’ his previous direction.

The Charan-Dharani combination is likely to strike an effect. While Charan is an able actor, Dharani is well experienced in moulding likeable characters, thanks to evidences of his work with Tamil superstar Vijay and his other directions- ‘Dhill’, ‘Kuruvi’ and ‘Ghilli.’

Actor Charan is expected to strive for public appreciation once again after ‘Magadheera’ and the film is expected to go onto its production stage in March, 2010. Revelation of other details as to the remaining cast and the crew will probably take some time.

Mimoh Chakravarty, son of renowned Bollywood actor Mithun Chakravarthy, is all set to enter into Telugu and Tamil cinema. He will be soon acting in the direction of G Ravi Kumar. The film is going to be a big one, for it will be made in three languages Telugu, Hindi and Tamil simultaneously. It seems that Mimoh is a bit lucky, coz very few people get such opportunity.

Speaking about this trilingual, director G Ravi Kumar said the script for the film is ready and would go on to floors very soon. Crew includes well-known cinematographer Kabeer Lal.

Other star cast includes Mukesh Rishi, Rahul Dev, Jeeva and Yashpal Sharma. The other details of the film are yet to be known.

The famous choreographer- actor-director – Raghava Lawrence is ready to be casted as a cowboy. He is all set to rule the sets of the upcoming Tamil movie ‘Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam,’ thanks to his regular practice sessions in horse riding. Unlike Ram Charan, this hero seems to be new to the sport but quite daring.

Director Simbudevan has already set up high hopes on this new adventure-comedy, a rare and different genre and that too with a western tinge. Like his earlier Tamil movie ‘Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikesi’ which was later dubbed into Telugu as “Himsinche 23va Raju Pulakesi,” even this one will revolve around the 18th century but… but the twist is that it’s in Mexican flavour.

Seeing Lawrence in traditional western costumes, riding horses and reflecting a tougher attitude with heroines Lakshmi Rai, Padmapriya and Sandhya swinging beside will no doubt be a mind blowing experience for the viewers. Hmmm….. Mexican attitude. Great taste …Lawrence.

If Indians have always been smart at making remakes and adaptations, veteran actor, director, producer and screenplay writer Kamal Haasan has been the smartest. He considers it a good idea, stating the example of Ramayana to draw our attention to the various adaptations of our Vedas , folks and fables, Panchatantras and other religious works. It is difficult to name a person who has as skillfully escaped copyright and plagiarism issues as Kamal Haasan and yet secured a respected position in the world of remakes. Because when its Kamal Haasan, ‘it’s ideas compiled and ideas added’ and that can’t be termed as ‘idle or foolish copying’. After all, who doesn’t use inspirations and existing ideas to add to the creative pursuits?

Kamal is capable at focusing on the crux of the matter. He chooses tried and tested movies and that’s why with several remakes round the corner, audience always turn to the ones of Kamal. When Kamal adapts a work, the makers of the original often admit of its surprising originality and magic. Hence more often than not , its success all the way.

For all who are fans of Mahesh Babu, he is already the Mr. Perfect. His next role of a perfect guy in ‘Mr. Perfect’ would only enhance his place in his fan’s hearts. ‘Mr. Perfect’ is still in the planning stage. If the project really materializes into reality, there is a possibility of its release towards the end of next year.

The 40 crore budgeted film has already stirred up great expectations. Well that’s good news for Mahesh and its producer Singanamala. Meanwhile another film which is still in its shooting phase, a part of which is being shot in Rajasthan is yet to be named.
